The workshop “The basics of STEM education. Modern technologies for inquiry based approach” was held at Boris Grinchenko Kyiv University in the framework of the international project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP on December 5, 2019. The seminar was attended by teachers, deputy directors and directors of secondary education institutions in Kyiv. This workshop was presented by Viktoriia Vember, PhD, Associated Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics Department.

Information day «Digital Instruments of Elementary School Teacher»
On November 26, 2019, at the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Information Day “Digital Instruments for Primary School Teachers” was held for teachers and students of the Pedagogical Institute of the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University within the of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP.
Information day was held by H. Bondarenko PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Primary Education; O. Shkurenko PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Elementary Education, O. Sakaliuk PhD, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Elementary Education.
The purpose of the information day was to familiarize the participants with the MoPED project and the digital tools of the primary school teacher. During the information day the teachers worked with mind maps, QR code, Mentimeter, online board.

On November 21-22, 2019, Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University (Uman) hosted a meeting of representatives of the Universities participating within the framework of the project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP: Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Deusto University (Spain), Krakow Academy of Mining and Metallurgy (Poland), Cyprus University (Cyprus), Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Pereiaslav-Khmelnytski Hryhorii Skovoroda State Pedagogical University, Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K.D. Ushynsky, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, (UA), LLC “Quality Ukraine”.

During the meeting, the reports on the project implementation, the main tasks and the expected results of the project as a whole were discussed in detail.
Nataliia Morze presented a report on the work done, demonstrated the newly created training courses for students, reported on the training for teachers and planned activities.
Representatives of all universities presented their courses, reported on the receipt of equipment and their work in accordance with the project plan.
The meeting also addressed the following issues: video script for obtaining equipment – current status, ideas about the MoPED ecosystem; preparation of materials about the conducted trainings on Google disk, tables with information about each partner; training evaluation reports; the state of implementation of the fourth work package, progress, problems, risks, unexpected results, plans; quality control and monitoring; dissemination and exploitation of project results.
Autumn holidays are time for professional development of teachers within the MoPED project
On autumn holidays academic staffs of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University Morze Nataliia, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, and Vasylenko Svitlana, Deputy Head on Content and Research of IT in Education Laboratory, led trainings for developing teachers’ digital competences within the project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP for teachers of specialized school Nr. 238 in Kyiv.

Pawlowski, Doctor, Professor for Business Information Systems, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, Germany arouse interest and meaningful discussion. The participants were interested to learn about the leading world ideas about active learning of pedagogical and natural sciences students, the Go-Lab ecosystem for STEAM innovative education, digital transformation and how to organize their professional lives in the age of digitalization.

About MoPED to Teachers during the August meetings
Just before the new academic year, the August teacher meetings are traditionally held. So this year, within the framework of the 3rd Kyiv Educational Forum “New Ukrainian School: The Space of Opportunities”, Svitlana Vasylenko, Deputy Head on the Content and Research of IT in Education Laboratory, led teachers workshops. She presented the main ideas of the project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University is a member of this project. Svitlana Vasylenko presented training materials for Storytelling with the aim to involve teachers in trainings on the development of digital competence.
