On May 21-24, 2019, a team of scientists from Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University took part in trainings within the framework of the project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED) of the EU program Erasmus + KA2 – Development of Higher Education Capacity, No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP on the basis of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, (UA). For four days, Polish colleagues-partners from the Stanislaw Staszic Mining and Metallurgical Academy lead trainings for Ukrainian researchers, where they presented their own experience and shared knowledge and skills on the formation of critical thinking and pedagogical design of courses.

Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University was represented by participants of the MoPED project: Svitlana Vasylenko – Deputy Head on the Content and Research of IT in Education Laboratory. Svitlana Ivashnova – PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, Deputy Director of the In-Service Training Institute for Scientific Work. Iryna Vorotnykova – PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor of the Department of Methodology of Natural and Mathematical Education and Technologies. Oleksandra Shkurenko PhD in Pedagogy, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Primary Education of the Pedagogical Institute, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. Svitlana Spivak, senior lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Faculty of Information Technology and Management; Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. Olena. Sakalyuk, PhD in Pedagogy, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Primary Education of the Pedagogical Institute, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University.

During the trainings, participants worked in groups or pairs, choosing the roles of volunteers and interviewers. Topics covered by the participants were related to interactive technologies: Icebreaking Activity, Critical Thinking, Media literacy. Teams or groups presented prepared projects every day, answered questions from trainers and participants, in the form of pedagogical discussions.

At the end of the training there were poster defenses by teams of researchers of 6 Ukrainian universities of projects of their own courses in the form of “content map”. Participants in practice – at creating projects, applied the experience of Polish colleagues, in particular, when designing the courses were guided by the principles of pedagogical design, implemented feedback techniques and methods of active learning.

The team of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University organized a number of events to acquaint participants with the historical, natural and cultural heritage of Uman region: excursion to Sofia National Dendrological Park, evening walk through the historical streets, visiting the dungeon of the Basilian monastery, tomb of Rabbi and Rabbi Tsaman.

Participants of the training received new ideas for the implementation of innovative technologies, acquired new professional skills and abilities, gained positive impressions and exchanged experiences with colleagues. Based on the results of the training, it is planned to conduct a series of trainings for teachers and students of the University, teachers of secondary schools of the city of Kyiv.
