On the 7th of October, 2020 at the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University was held an information day in the webinar format, as the part of the project “Modernization of Pedagogical Higher Education by Innovative Teaching Instruments” (MoPED), No. 586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP.

The webinar was started by Nataliia Morze – Professor of Department of Computer Science and Mathematics of the Faculty of Information Technology and Management of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine – Project Manager with her speech “Modern Educational Trends”.

“Formative assessment and digital technologies” Viktoriia Vember – PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor of Department of Computer Science and Mathematics of the Faculty of Information Technology and Management. During the presentation participants learned about the concept of formative assessment and its features, assessment strategies, the purposes of formative assessment at different stages – before the work, during the work and at the end of the lesson. They found out about the structure of the process of formative evaluation, they studied examples of digital tools classified into different groups of tools, with the definition for which purposes of formative evaluation they can be used. One of the types of formative evaluation is peer evaluation. During the webinar participants discussed the features of this type of evaluation, as well as its advantages and disadvantages compared to traditional evaluation, as well as examples of digital resources that can be used for peer evaluation.

“Approaches and features during the organization of STEM-projects” Mariia Boiko – Senior Lecturer of Department of Computer Science and Mathematics of the Faculty of Information Technology and Management. She acquainted the participants with the concept of STEM-education, the peculiarities of its implementation, the relationship between STEM practices, approaches to the organization of STEM-projects: scientific and human-oriented, considered the skills of scientific processes, stages of scientific and human-oriented approaches, features of STEM-organization. projects, acquainted with digital resources to support STEM-projects and evaluation criteria.

Svitlana Vasylenko – Deputy Head on the Content and Research of IT in Education Laboratory, presented her vision to the question “How to increase the practical orientation of the Scientific studies in the context of blended learning”. The participants got acquainted with an example of student facilitation strategy for using interactive virtual simulators simulating research of naturel subjects. .

Liliia Varchenko-Trotsenko – PhD in Pedagogy, Researcher in Digital competence development centre of IT in Education Laboratory, PHD in Pedagogical Sciences, spoke about the “Use of video materials in blended learning”. Participants were introduced to the concept of blended learning and the role of video materials in it, considered the types of videos used in the educational process and tools for creating interactive videos, identified the main characteristics of effective videos.
